Hello!! 

My name is Julia Jay.

I am 23 years young. 

​

I have always loved art since I was little! :)

It was in Year 10 at school we did Pen drawing as one of the topics in art class- and from that moment I was hooked! 

I chose pen as my form of material for my HSC, then after school I continued to draw- although- just for fun and if someone asked if I would ever pursue art as a career I would say

"oh no, it's just a hobby"

Then in late 2018 I had a few weeks that changed everything

(one of those times in life where everything goes completely wrong but then you look back & see that everything had to go wrong for everything to change for the better) 

​

My journey as a full time artist then began lightly in August 2018, with the next few months doing some

casual markets & group exhibits. 

 

It was in January 2019 when I won the Roost Creative Scholarship, that I then decided "right, this is for real now, I am really going to do this and give it my everything" 

​

My job now involves 

-creating commissions

-Projects such as "The Horoscope Project" 

which launched my first Solo exhibition & 2020 Calendar

- Markets 

-Workshops 

- Event organising

-And of course managing the business side of it (Admin/ Social Media/ Planning / Posting orders / Emails etc. )

Art entwines its way into every single part of my life.

Even when I experience the natural down lulls of life, art balances me out and pulls me back into my light. 

I feel so passionately about the power of healing

through art and being creative.

It's grounding. It's empowering. It's pure magic. 

Art adds sparkle to our souls. 

​

I am such a strong believer of having magic in our lives.

As I believe if there is magic, there is hope. 

Hope drives our motivation, our belief in ourselves

& inspires positive action. 

​

My souls purpose and intention as an artist, is to help as many people as possible reconnect with their own inner creativity & sparkle :) 

​
